James M. (Mike) Hill, FASA

Mike has extensive experience in valuing closely held businesses and equity ownership in connection with tax planning, estate planning, estate valuations, divorce and commercial litigation and is a recognized leader in the business appraisal industry. He has extensive experience appraising businesses in the service, manufacturing, petrochemical, construction, healthcare, retail and oil and gas exploration and production industries.

He has been an active member of the American Society of Appraisers since 1981, most recently serving at the chairman of its Long-Range Planning Committee. Mike is past Chairman of the Business Valuation Committee of the ASA. He was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Society of Appraisers in 1997. He helped develop and has taught Business Valuation courses throughout the United States and has spoken to the China Appraisal Society. Mike has also served as a Trustee and is past Chairman of The Appraisal Foundation which promulgates the National Standards for the Appraisal Industry. He is currently President of CAPE (Centre for Advanced Property Economics). Mike received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from Lamar University.
