Herbert (Pete) L. Lyon, PhD

Professor Lyon is a member of our Council of Advisors. He was formerly Professor of Marketing in the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. He also served as the College's first Director of the Executive MBA Program and as Associate Dean for Executive and International Programs. He has taught courses on Marketing/Economic Analysis, Managerial Economics, Marketing Research, Statistics, and Marketing Planning and Strategy. Professor Lyon has also undertaken numerous marketing and economic analysis consulting engagements.

He has authored over 30 academic papers and co-authored seven textbooks and monographs. He received a BBA degree with honors from The University of Memphis after military service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves. He was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company prior to starting graduate study at the University of Illinois at Urbana. Professor Lyon received his PhD from the University of Illinois with area concentrations on marketing, economics and statistics.
